My name is Jose M. Rios, and I am the best computer instructor at Lamar Louise Curry (the only one). I was born in Fajardo,
Puerto Rico. However, most of my summers were spend on the nearby town of Luquillo. I came to Miami, Florida in 1987.
I have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and a Master Degree in Science Management and Information Systems.
For many years I worked for the State of Florida in the area of Information Technology. I am proud to have been a member of the team that was responsible for the implementation of major and significant statewide computerized systems for the Florida Department of Childrens and Families, The Agency for Health Care Administration, and the Department of Juvenile Justice.
After eight years of working with the government, I decided to move to the the private sector where I was employed as a Network Engineer, Test Engineer and Fiber Optics Engineer. My experience in the private sector included Telecommunications lab management, E911, and Fiber Optic design.
For the past 12 years I have had the honor to be teaching middle school students. However, since 1990 I have also been employed as a part-time technology instructor and adjunct faculty at many technical and community colleges.
I have been married for 25 years and have a beautiful and loving daughter. I have the blessing of having my parents alive . My brother is the best spinning instructor at his gym (he is also the only one), and all my cousins are OK. However, my aunt is great (sometimes).
I forgot to mention that I have a canine granddaughter named Sophie. She is a Miniature Pinscher, and she is the best dog we have (she is also the only one).
Now you know a little bit more about Mr. Rios
